La Nuit n'est pas un chocolat
Oosterpoort, Groningen, 4 februari 2004
Immediately upon arrival the audience was submerged in an all-encompassing sensory experience of smells, fragments of music, children blowing bubbles and the relaxing activities of hairdressers and masseurs. In the otherwise so formal foyers of the Oosterpoort stood a little tea room, the smell of mint tea filled the air and skaters caused playful mayhem among the audience.
What started as a casual evening, transformed into a unusual concert during which the audience was allowed to sit on the stage on cushions. The musicians who were scattered around the space played a continuous piece of music which included classical solo’s, soundscapes, improvisations and passages with the pupils of the music school, as well as the DJ and brass band. After a suggestive supper prepared on the spot, the hall was transformed into a night club and the DJ, musicians and brass band played the night away.
